Are You Kidding Me?

I have many blogs to catch up on reading, as well as a great fiction book I'm 300+ pages into and definitely want to finish before my classes begin again on Tuesday, and cleaning that could most definitely be accomplished, but I'm inclined to stop for a moment and get this "are you kidding me!??" moment out on 'paper'.

I went to Target today to get some additional thank you notes - praise God we had to purchase more in order to keep sending our ministry partners thanks!!! We have blessed like crazy in the support raising process!

So while I was at the store, I thought I'd pick up some Mother's Day cards for next week... besides the fact that the pickings were already slim (read that as my reminder and warning for you to run to the store folks, or you'll be in trouble the later it gets), I almost had a fit when I saw the price tag on some of the cards. Apparently PAPYRUS lines their cards with gold trim because it was the dominate manufacturer provided by Target and the costs were from $4.95-$7.95 per card!? A GREETING CARD!? Seriously - nothing more than some card stock paper with a pretty picture on the front, opened to a little text and voila - $5-8 was their request. No music, no fancy pop up thingy, nothing special really but some thick card stock and a pretty design - NO WAY!!!!

Now don't get me wrong --- I love my mother and I love my mother-in-law, and they deserve an extra $5-8 if not much much more.... but spending $5-8 on a greeting card is beyond ridiculous in my book?! Maybe that's just me, but had to share.

You can always get out your sissors, crayons and a piece of construction paper. It will mean more to them.

This Frank's way of saying how he wants his card made...

I am a sucker for Papyrus cards. They are SO much prettier and usually more sentimental that the other kinds. I gladly waste $6 on one! :)

It is the way my gkids make their cards, and I do love it.

Please no fancy Mother's Day Cards. I had the best Mother's Day gift one could give- Heather and Kelly cleaning out my garage after years of neglect! Yeah!!

Britt - I concur they are SUPER cute... but $7-8 on most of them, yikes! :)
